Here are a few more guidelines:

  • Remove any debris from the Lightning connector with a clean, dry, soft-bristled brush.

  • Don't use abrasive materials to clean the charging case.

  • To avoid damaging the metal contacts, don't put anything in the charging ports.

Don't let water get in your AirPods

Your AirPods and charging case aren't waterproof or water resistant, so be careful not to get moisture in any openings.

If your AirPods come in contact with liquid, including sweat from a workout, wipe them down with a dry microfiber cloth. To dry the case, place it upside down with the lid open.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Can wax build up effect my Airpods?
A. Yes! Wax and other grime can affect the sound and functionality of your Airpods.

Q. How often should I clean my Airpods?
A. We recommend that Airpods are cleaned at least once a month to maintain optimum performance. Daily users may need to clean more often.

Q. Can dirty Airpods be the reason for connectivity issues?
A. Yes! Airpods connect via Bluetooth using a sensor, if this sensor is blocked with dirt you will experience connectivity issues.

Q. If dirt gets into the case and blocks the charging contacts, how can I clean them?
A. This is a problem and for this we recommend a cotton swab or a small soft bristle brush with a safe liquid. Do not spray the Airpods or case directly! Always spray the brush, swab or cloth first and then clean the device.
